Café Wahlman

A visit to Wahlmans Hantverksbageri & Café is a must when in Hedemora. Not only for those craving a coffee break but also for the fantastic turn-of-the-century atmosphere that has been carefully restored over several years from the tragic '80s.

Here, almost everything is baked from scratch, preferably using local and Swedish ingredients. There are spacious, lovely indoor salons and two delightful garden seating areas. For those interested in building preservation and who want to experience authentic historical environments, the unique café has much to offer. Right next door is Dalarna's best-stocked Building Preservation Store, Klassiska Byggvaror. They offer a wide range of old, new, and reclaimed items. The shop is closed on public holidays. Located at Stora Torget in Hedemora's beautiful old 18th-century quarter, you’ll find Wahlmans Hantverksbageri & Café. Most of the baking is done on-site, with a preference for locally produced high-quality ingredients. They offer coffee, sandwiches, pies, salads, baked potatoes, and a daily soup buffet. A beautiful and cozy turn-of-the-century environment with plenty of room in the indoor salons and the two outdoor garden seating areas. For children, there are play boxes inside and a sandbox outside. A ramp, accessible restroom, and a helping hand are available if needed. There are 90 seats in a nostalgic environment in one of Hedemora's oldest cultural heritage buildings. Large groups and buses are, of course, welcome, but please book in advance if possible.
