Borlänge

Borlänge has a population of around 50 000 inhabitants and has always been open to new ideas. Music is important to the people of Borlänge, which might be why so many exciting musicians comes from here: Mando Diao, Sugarplum Fairy and Miss Li to name just a few.

Sweden’s most cheerful football tournament – the Dalecarlia Cup – takes place here every year. But there are also plenty of other ways to keep active, such as the Aqua Nova water park. Borlänge is close to wilderness areas for those who enjoy peace and quiet, discovering nature and physical challenges. Romme Alpin ski resort, Adventure Mine Tuna Hästberg, Gyllbergen Nature Reserve and the fantastic natural ice rinks of Lake Runn are all located within 20 minutes of central Borlänge.

10 km east of Borlänge is the charming village of Torsång, surrounded by water. Torsång café at the Dala River is a popular meeting place, and an ideal location from which to visit the mediaeval church, the motor museum and the folk museum.

And with the new commercial centre at Norra Backa, Kupolen shopping centre and Borlänge town centre, Borlänge has become the number one shopping destination in Dalarna.
