Welcome to Malung

Malung is known as the leather capital of Sweden, and for good reason. The leather industry has been part of the region's identity for several hundred years. The tradition lives on today in leather shops and craftspeople, and in Skinnarspelet – a play centred around the leather merchants and their craft.

In summer, around 50,000 visitors and over 80 dance bands gather for Dansbandsveckan, one of Sweden's most popular festivals. And when the dancing is done, deep forests, wild countryside, rushing rapids and the mountains await within easy reach.
