Silverringen - Jönshyttan

In Jönshyttan, the silver ore mined at Östra Silvberg's mine was smelted. The activity here was lively already at the end of the 15th century. Today, there are traces at the site of the iron handling that was transferred to in the 17th century in the form of smaller slag heaps and foundation stones from buildings. The remains that exist show that there may have been five cabins along the river where the supply of forest and natural waterfalls was good. Until 1515, the rich silver mountain bailiff Stig Hansson lived at Jönshyttan in a large log house whose foundation stones still remain.
