Torsång Church

Beautifully situated middle age church built in the 14th Century. The church is built in granite and bricks, typical for that time and environment. The church has beautifully shaped star arches and the baptismal font is its oldest furniture.

Torsång has been a settlement since the stone ages and is one of the oldest parishes in Dalarna.
Torsångs church is the oldest church in the province of Dalarna, and has largely been maintaining its original appearance. A natural meeting point at the time was isthmus between Runn and Ösjöns outflow in Dalälven and the rivers were the major communication routes.
Probably built of wood during the 12th century.
