Floda kyrka

The church is built next to Västerdalälven's north bank and east of the river Noret, which connects Västerdalälven with Flosjön. The place was early on an important road junction with connections across the waterways and these conditions early on promoted the development of villages and settlements.

A characteristic feature outside the church is the wooden suspension bridge, built in 1922 to replace a floating bridge washed away six years earlier. The oldest parts of the church are from the beginning of the 13th century. Interiorly, the church has a clean and austere, but very beautiful shape. The wooden baptismal font from the 17th century is still preserved. In the 1880s, the church was modernized in the spirit of the times with open pews, redone floors and reconstruction of the stand for a larger organ. At the same time, the coloring of the fixed interior was changed, from the blue marbling of the 18th century to veins.
