Flenberget is a wild and mighty mountain massif in Solleröskogen (534 m above sea level).
On the southern slope where the mountain is at its steepest is the mythical Flengruvan.
When the big collapse happened in Falu Koppargruva in 1687, copper ore was looked for in several places in Dalarna. Copper mining in Flengruvan probably began in the middle of the 18th century. The mine hole goes straight into the rock, is filled with water and is said to be 20 meters deep.
From the mine there is a majestic view of forest, mountains and Siljan. This is for those who like an exciting and strenuous hike. The path (3 km) starts at Lövberg's shalet.
