Himmelsberget, located 6.5 km west of Svartnäs in the municipality of Falun, offers a fantastic experience high up towards the sky. A road divides the reserve into two parts. To the west of the road, you encounter a rocky elevation with a mix of pine and spruce forests. Water flows in the slope, creating lush vegetation with flowers like wood cranesbill and wild angelica.
To the east of the road, the land slopes down towards the marshes of Lake Svarten. Here, a tall and nutrient-rich spruce forest extends. The area provides diverse forest landscapes, ranging from coniferous forests in the north to the south. Follow the road through Svärdsjö and Vintjärn towards Svartnäs, turn towards Nilslarsberg and Lamborn, and then take a forest road up to Himmelsberget. A close encounter with nature awaits!
