Gruvspåret Cross-Country ski trail

Gruvspåret is a local cross-country ski trail, which currently runs from the Falun Mine, World Heritage and about 3 km through the forest up on to the lake Stora Vällan. There is also a flat easy track on the west side of the mine towards the road to Leksand.

At Stora Vällan you can find trails that go around the entire lake (10 km), as well as shorter tracks. When there is much snow there are tracks prepared to connect to Lilla Vällan and also the Falun-Borlänge track. Good parking lots can be found north east of lake Stora Vällan, by Lilltorpet 3 km west of central Falun, and on road 293 towards Leksand. For an up-to-date trail status, see the website of skidspår.
