Welcome to Stjärnsund

Nestled in the rolling landscape of southern Dalarna, northeast of Hedemora, lies the historic Stjärnsund Ironworks – one of Dalarna's best-preserved 18th-century estates by Lake Grycken. Founded by the inventor Christopher Polhem, its rich cultural life and beautiful setting make it a unique meeting point between history and the present day.

In summer, the Smedjan venue draws visitors with concerts and events featuring well-known artists. Craft workshops, art exhibitions and permaculture gardens make Stjärnsund a destination with many layers. Here you will also find the visitor centre for Husbyringen, a 60-kilometre nature and culture trail and Sweden's first ecomuseum.
