Östra Almberget Nature Reserve

Östra Almberget is a rock formation that rises markedly over the surrounding landscape. The reserve includes the top plateau and the surrounding slopes and consists of natural forest with great variety. From the road to the north there is a path that leads up to the mountain to the top.

Östra Almberget is a mountain and its peak reaches about 580 meters above sea level. The northern side of the mountain slopes steeply down towards Södra Almsjön. The landscape of bedrock together with the thin soil that cover on the rock contributes to the rather nutrient-poor conditions in the soil.
