A magnificent show. Imagine when a massive 650 kg bull moose jumps into the small lake right in front of you. You see many wild moose on each safari and the safari has a moose guarantee.

On foot, you´ll hike in pathless terrain through one of the most heavily moose-populated wilderness areas on earth. The moose are nocturnal and rest during the day. At dusk, the moose start to move from the deepest forests under the protection of dark.
During the safari a stop will be made at one of the many lakes in the Nature Reserve Malingsbo-Kloten, were a wilderness picnic will be served. To the picnic you listen to an experienced and knowledgeable moose guide who let you know about the moose and many other wild animals in the forest.
When the moose hike starts everyone has to be absolutely silent. Then you only communicate with sign language (a necessary condition if you are to see the shy and majestic animals).
The hike is not physically demanding. You hike very carefully and with as little noise as possible during the 1-1.5 hour hike. The safaris finish with a minibus tour, in which we visit other favorite spots of the moose.
The tour includes: A 5-hour guided moose safari, a hike in a very moose rich area, a wilderness picnic with moose meat wraps mixed with vegetables and berries from the local forest, mineral water from the local brewery, local fruit, tea or coffee, a minibus tour in the moose forest, a one-night in a double room, sheets, towels and breakfast (with home-made bread and cereal).
The safari is certified Nature's Best's arrangement.
Moose guarantee: All participants on the safaris have seen moose during the 18 years the safari has been arranged, and the safari has a moose guarantee. On the worst safari tour, they saw 2 moose. On the best safari tour, they watched 34 moose.
The safari is arranged on Saturdays between 8 May and 25 September 2021. Extra safaris on other days on request.
Number of participants: 2-8 persons/guide and group.
Equipment: Rain gears (in case of rain or as a backup against rain) and warmer clothes to put on after sunset, when the temperature often drops. Water-resistant shoes are recommended. There will be binoculars on the tour. If you have your own binoculars you are recommend bringing them.
Start and finish time: Depending on the hour of sunset, start and finish times vary throughout the season. We finish in full darkness and start 5 hours earlier.
Start and finish at Wilderness Lodge. Comfortable beds, personal touch and wild and nordic animals around the corner.
Moose guarantee: In the case that no moose are seen on the moose tours lead by main guide Mikael Nilsson, a new tour will be offered. The guarantee is not valid for other service (. food and accommodation) that are included in the safari.

The Wilderness Lodge is located in the heart of the Malingsbo-Kloten Nature Reserve along road 233 between Skinnskatteberg and Kopparberg. 2.5 hours drive from Stockholm.

From the airport, Stockholm Arlanda: Drive towards the city of Stockholm. Turn right at the sign for Enköping, Oslo and E 18. Drive through the town, Västerås, on E 18. A few kilometers outside of the city, turn right on route 66 and drive for 30 km. Turn left on road 233 and drive for 60 km. The Wilderness Lodge is located along the road. From the village sign Kloten you keep driving for 500 meters on road 233. Turn right at the red house with the sign WILDERNESS LODGE on the wall. The time of driving is 2.5 hours.
From the airport, Stockholm Västerås: Drive towards Oslo on E 18 through the town, Västerås. A few kilometers outside of the city, turn right on route 66 and drive for 30 km. Turn left on road 233 and drive for 60 km. The Wilderness Lodge is located along the road. From the village sign Kloten you keep driving for 500 meters on road 233.
