Världsarvsgrannar - an exhibition

For centuries, people from Dalarna and Hälsingland have met through trade, seasonal work migration, and shared traditions. This summer, the neighbouring regions come together in the exhibition Världsarvsgrannar (World Heritage Neighbours).

The environments and stories surrounding the industrial landscape of Falu Gruva and the well-preserved, richly decorated Hälsingland farmhouses are considered so significant to humanity that they have been designated as World Heritage Sites by the United Nations agency UNESCO. Today, an increasing number of visitors travel to both Dalarna and Hälsingland to experience the World Heritage sites, the dramatic natural scenery, and the authentic environments. The exhibition is a collaboration between Falu Gruva, the World Heritage farm Gästgivars in Vallsta, and Växbo Lin. Världsarvsgrannar (World Heritage Neighbours) highlights the unique industrial and cultural environments, the historical ties between the regions, and their many similarities as well as differences. It tells a vivid story of history, creativity, and living heritage. The exhibition will be shown at Falu Gruva from 15 June to 16 August 2026 and will return during the summer of 2027.
