In the old factory, tradition, present and future meet in the crispbread bakery, market hall, restaurant and dairy. During the summer, there is also a container café and greenhouse in the courtyard where visitors can enjoy shopping and taste experiences.
The crispbread bakery
In the bakery, the ovens are fired with spruce and pine wood. The bakers swing their bread shovels as the crispbread is baked in the traditional way. This gives the bread a unique flavour and no two cakes are the same. Hear the crackle of the fire in the ovens, feel the heat and the smell and experience how the bakers contribute to the preservation of a piece of Swedish cultural heritage.
Market hall
Placing a market hall here in the countryside of Stora Skedvi in southern Dalarna may seem strange - or just the opposite! Here in the village are the farmers, also entrepreneurs, who deliver pork and beef, potatoes, eggs and milk directly to the market hall.
The manual counter offers fresh meat, smoked delicacies, a rich variety of cheeses and delicious mixes from the chefs in the restaurant. Factory sales of Skedvi Bröd are given many shelf metres and you can fill your glass bottle with milk straight from the fridge. On the shelves you'll also find all sorts of goodies, such as spices, marinades, oils and world champion mustard, sweets of all kinds, drinks, jams and marmalades and much more.
The restaurant
Here the focus is on locally produced ingredients and culinary and well-prepared dishes. There is love for the Swedish food tradition and inspiration from the outside world. The dishes are prepared with love and respect for both producers and ingredients, which as far as possible are sourced from Stora Skedvi and the surrounding area.
Greenhouses, summer café and containers
In the summer, the courtyard opens up and is lined with containers. They have floated on the world's oceans, landed in Stora Skedvi and been filled with all kinds of nice things. Here you can be inspired and shop for your home and garden. Cultural elements appear and vary from year to year. There is also our summer café with coffee in the Skäve way. At the end of the courtyard you will find the greenhouse.
