In the old crispbread factory, tradition, the present and the future come together in our knäckebröd (Swedish crispbread) factory, food hall, restaurant and dairy. During the summer, we open our greenhouse and the courtyard area, with its shipping containers stocked with flowers, trees, shrubs, garden accessories and home décor.

The crispbread bakery In the bakery the ovens are fired with spruce and pine. The bakers wield their paddles as knäckebröd is baked the traditional way. This gives the bread its truly unique taste and no two are ever the same. Welcome to our bakery. Hear the crackle of the fire in the ovens, feel the warmth and aroma, and watch as the bakers help to keep alive a part of Swedish cultural heritage. Food hall It may seem an odd choice to locate a food hall out in the sticks in Stora Skedvi in southern Dalarna – but it’s quite the opposite! The factory is situated in the heart of a flourishing agricultural region. Here in the village are the farmers and business owners who deliver pork and beef, potatoes, eggs and milk directly to our food hall. At the service counter you’ll find fresh meat and delicious hams and sausages. There is also have a wide range of cheeses and delicacies prepared in the restaurant. The Skedvi Bröd factory shop has seemingly endless metres of shelf space and you can even fill your glass bottle with milk straight from the cooler. The selection of Skedvi Bröd’s own delicious specialities produced in the factory is growing. On the shelves and in the chiller cabinet, these products share space with those of other small-scale producers, many of which are local, with others coming from further afield. Here you will find all kinds of delicious products, such as award-winning mustards, oils, drinks, jams and marmalades as well as much, much more. We’re all about small-scale and place great value on being close to the producers without compromising at all on quality. Welcome in to browse, shop wisely and seek inspiration. The restaurant Here the focus is on locally produced ingredients and culinary and well-prepared dishes. There is love for the Swedish food tradition and inspiration from the outside world. The dishes are prepared with love and respect for both producers and ingredients, which as far as possible are sourced from Stora Skedvi and the surrounding area. Greenhouse, containers and inspiration In summer, the inviting courtyard is open. Here is the greenhouse that supplies the restaurant with tomatoes and other seasonal produce, which are also available for purchase in the food hall. Vegetable plants, summer flowers, perennials, trees and shrubs can be found alongside garden accessories and homeware. Be inspired and shop for your home and garden. During high season and when the temperature rises, the ice cream counter moves out of the food hall. Here ice cream, coffee and cold drinks are served. The ice cream is churned in the dairy by our dairy queen, Pernilla, who runs Stora Skedvi Dairy. Here, new flavours are trialled and tested. It’s locally produced and small-scale. Pop-up café, Vintage container, more things to do for the kids are expected this summer. Festivals, music evenings and other fun events are arranged throughout the year. Skedvi Bröd attracts people to hang out, taste experiences and inspiration.
