Grangärde Church Village

Peasant miner’s village from the 14th century. The village of Kyrkbyn in Grangärde sits on a promontory between lake Bysjön and lake Björken.

The village is well signposted. A self-guided walk thru the village you will discover several well-preserved homesteads, a manor house, church, harbour warehouses built by slagbrick and a former tourist hotel. Nearby the old harbour warehouses you find a perfect place for rest and a swimming spot. Grangärde Church Village is an environment in Ecomuseum Bergslagen.
