Göljådalen

A unique environment in Sweden, which changed drastically in the rain disaster in August 1997. On 30-31 August 1997 hit the eastern part of Fulufjället of a violent lightning rain. The devastation along including Tangån, Kloran and Great and Little Göljån was significantly worse than at any previous known heavy rains in Sweden.

Follow the marked trails and see where the big wave ran through the valley and swept away everything in it's path. Do not forget to watch the movie at naturum, Fulufjället! Trees still raging in the area, especially after rainfall. On 30-31 August 1997 hit the eastern part of Fulufjället of a violent lightning rain. The devastation along including Tangån, Kloran and Great and Little Göljån was significantly worse than at any previous known heavy rains in Sweden. At Rösjöarna measured record rainfall 276 mm in one day with a simple private test equipment. A little further south along the east side of the mountain fell approximately 300-400 mm.
