Church boat exhibition - Roddens Hus

On the shore of Lake Siljan in Västanvik, Leksand. On one wall in the church boat house there is an exhibition that describes the church boat tradition around Siljan with extra focus on the race rowing in Leksand, which has taken place in July every year since 1936.

Church boat rowing around Siljan dates back to the Viking Age. But where are the church boats today? How does it go about building a church boat? The exhibition mainly consists of 6 paintings, including Wilhelm Mastrand's painting from 1853 "Summer Sunday at Siljan". You will also find facts and information about the competition and results compilation, successful rowing teams and a few selected competition years.
