The Sångenrundan offers a mixed environment and varied cycling.
Sångenrundan, or Sångenleden as it is sometimes also called, is available in two variants: Korta Sångenrundan of 23 km and Långa Sångenrundan of 32 km. Both start centrally at Ica, where there are also information boards with a map of the trail.
Start: Ica Nära, Dala-Floda Length: 23 km Surface: path, gravel and asphalt. Description: Sångenrundan 23 km (Short Sångenrundan) and 32 km (Long Sångenrundan). Both can be combined into a figure-of-eight trail, with the longer trail building on the shorter one. The first kilometres start with a road and a nice path with a slowly increasing slope that ends with a shorter stretch of slightly steeper slopes before it turns and heads downhill.
A lovely trail with some short rocky sections with more technical cycling. The last bit gives good roll and lovely flow before you reach a gravel road leading to Gysjön.
Here the trail splits into a longer 32 km ride that takes you around Lake Sången on partly technical cycling, but above all beautiful scenery as the trail goes on a ridge in older pine forest to the northern end of Sången to then connect to the shorter round of 23 km. Väljer du den kortare rundan så följer du grusväg och bredare stig till södra delen av Sången vid inloppet av Sångån.
There you can take a break at the windbreak and enjoy the view for a while. This is also where the long route connects again. The journey continues along beautiful Sångån on a wide fine path. For a short distance you cycle on a narrow winding path through sparse pine forest to later join the wider path that leads down to the gravel road.
You pass the Sandviken herd on a gravel road and shortly afterwards turn off onto a narrower herd path that leads you back towards Dala-Floda again. It starts with a climb, but it is worth the effort, as this part is eventful and beautiful. You can relax on the last bit, which is a gravel and tarmac road into the village. Be careful in nature and show consideration for others in the forest.
There may be hikers and even horses on the trail. Be considerate and make them aware of your presence before you pass.
