Starting Point: Dala-Floda Church
Ending Point: Ljusbodarna
Length: 14.5 km
Difficulty Level: Blue, medium
Duration: Approx. 4 hours 50 minutes
Environment: On this stage, you follow forest trails and come across beautiful sandy beaches and scenic waterways. Between Dala-Floda and the summer pasture settlement of Sandviken by Flosjön, the trail takes you along an old summer pasture route. There are some steeper inclines along the old pasture trails and a few steep sections.
Terrain: A mix of asphalt and gravel roads as well as forest trails in hilly terrain.
Trail Description:
From Dala-Floda Church, the trail departs from the village, passing an ICA store and crossing fields before leaving residential areas behind. The trail then follows a path through the woods, but those who prefer can take the gravel road along Flosjön to Sandviken where the trail rejoins the road. From Sandviken, the route heads north toward Lake Sången on larger trails, partly following the fascinating waterway Sångån, a stream with a history of significant activity including dams, mills, and log driving. Despite being considerably impacted by human activities, the stream still boasts high natural value with intriguing species. Since the trail here also serves as a bike path, you might encounter some cyclists. At Sångdammen, there is a lean-to shelter where you can take a break.
