Hykjeberg south 4 km

The mountain with steep precipices sticks up like a giant in the forest landscape. From up here you have a mile-wide view. There at the top, a wind shelter awaits for a nice rest.

Start and end location: The lower parking lot at the far end of Nässjövägen in Älvdalen municipality. See directions. Length: about 4 km, round trip. Trail markings: The trail is marked with red paint. Time: About 2 hours. Severity: Demanding, as the path goes steeply uphill and is rocky. Environment: The trail is slightly steeper than the trail that starts from the main entrance, but well-trodden and easy to find. At times it runs by a nice stream. The hiking trail up the mountain is both steep and rocky. At the top, you can rest your legs on the bench that the Prince Couple Carl Philip and Sofia received from the people from Dalarna as a wedding present. It was inaugurated by the Prince Couple in September 2016. Description: For a longer and more demanding hike to the top of Hykjeberget, start at the lower parking lot at the far end of Nässjövägen. Signposted Hykjeberg and red markings from the turning area. From this trail, Hykjeberget's 100-meter cliff can be seen from below. The last bit up to the top is very steep.
