Hiking to old-growth forest

Join us for a half-day trip to an old-growth forest that will tantalize your senses with nature and history. The hike is 12 kilometers long and partly follows the old road between Säter and Smedjebacken, passing by a copper smelting hut and charcoal pit. After approximately 1.5 hours, we'll take a break at Viludden, by Lake Björkljustern, for lunch.

The hike starts at 10:00 from the farm in Nyhyttan and passes through an area that was once the cradle of Sweden, from which our country's prosperity was built. During the break, lunch with locally sourced ingredients will be provided, along with a delightful cup of coffee, while you can enjoy the tranquil setting and its trees that are over 100 years old. The hike is aimed at experienced hikers, and we recommend wearing sturdy hiking shoes and bringing a water bottle. Dress according to the weather. Please specify any dietary restrictions.
