Gruvvandringen 5 km

A hike that goes through old mining areas close to the village Solberga, southeast of Insjön. The hike goes along narrow but easy to walk paths in partially considerably hilly terrain and past different areas where there used to be mining activities.

Difficulty level: Red, demanding

Description: Starting point is Fiskdammarna in Solberga(The fish ponds), parking is available and here you can find a sign with a map and information about the area. From here, you begin your hike by walking past the fish ponds and into the woods, follow the orange markings to navigate.

Along the path, remnants from the mining can be seen, these include: Könsta, a stone building that used to house a wheel which purpose was to power the water flow from the mines. Further on is Blackbergets mining field where they used to mine iron, the last stop is Insjöns coppermine, pay attention to the orange markings through this area to find the right path.

From Leksand: The starting point for the hike is located 18 km southeast of Leksand. From Leksand take road 70 to Insjön where you then turn left to Hjultorget, in the second roundabout you continue straight on Timmervägen and go towards Brenäs. Closely after passing Brenäs, turn left at the signs that say Romma and Rönnäs, continue on this road until the sign that says Solberga, here you continue on a dirt road about 700 m to Fiskdammarna and the parking spot.
