Gamla Lillfjätvägen 6.5 km

This part of the trail runs between the community of Lillfjäten and the crossing at Foskan. A trail with a very long and exciting history. The path has been used for centuries by priests, post offices, and people who have lived in the area. The trail is part of a network of trails that connect Härjedalen and Dalarna as well as eastern parts of Norway.

Start and end location: The trail can be started in the village of Lillfjäten, or at the crossing over Foskan. It is also possible to connect to the trail from "Fjätervålen runt". Length: A-B trip 6.5km Elevation gain: 193 m Trail markings: The trail is marked in the County Administrative Board's orange color, and in parts the trail is also signposted. Time required: About 2h Difficulty: Medium, the trail goes both through spruce forest and on the bare mountain, the trail passes sometimes wetter sections. Environment: From the village of Lillfjäten, the trail goes into Städjan and Nipfjället nature reserve. The trail crosses Flötbäcken and reaches the tree line on the southern slope of Fjätervålen. From the tree line, you walk a couple of kilometers along the same route as "Fjället runt". Then the trail continues between Fjätervålen and Svartfjället, until the river Foskan. At the river Foskan, the trail continues south towards Idre Fjäll and Idre village. Facilities and packing needs: At the facility there is free parking, the possibility to charge electric cars, a service shop, toilets and barbecue area. If you start from Lillfjäten, there is parking along road 311, about 100 meters from where the trail begins.
