Welcome to Falun

The Falun World Heritage Site is not just Falu Mine itself, but the entire surrounding landscape, with historic red-painted quarters, the rural mining village and famous painter Carl Larsson's home in Sundborn.

Falun is the regional capital of Dalarna and a very popular destination, with a cultural offering that stretches from a thousand years of mining history to world-class events. In 2027, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships will be held at the historic Lugnet stadium, but the celebrations will be felt throughout Falun and across all of Dalarna.

Events

Falun offers a wide range of events in music, sports, food, and culture, that attract both visitors and locals.
