Avesta

The world's largest Dala horse can be found in Avesta. So can the interactive art museum Verket and Avesta Art, where industrial history meets contemporary art in an experience of international calibre.

Avesta is a small town in the south of Dalarna with everything from a skate park and enormous copper coins to the prehistoric European bison – Europe's largest land-dwelling mammal. Add to that a rich outdoor life along the Dalälven river and the well-preserved 17th-century environment of Gamla Byn, and you have a destination with something for everyone.

Events

Avesta offers a wide range of events in music, culture, and food, that attract both visitors and locals.
