Rännkölen is situated 640 meters above sea level and gets natural snow early in the season. The tracks are made as soon as possible. Early in the season the tracks are on the roads and later on the marshes.
Length: 4.5 km, 10 km and 22 km.
Difficulty: Easy to medium, the longest track is slightly hilly.
Starting point: Most tracks start at the heating cabin.
Track description: Tracks are made on natural snow early in the season as soon as the snow supply is sufficient. There are different tracks depending on snow availability. In normal cases, there are five- and ten-kilometer tracks over the bogs, with an extension on the road for another 10 km.
There are also competition tracks of 1, 1.5, 2.5, 5 and 10 km. These tracks are only prepared when competitions need to be moved to Rännkölen, for example in the event of a lack of snow or severe cold in Älvdalen.
After the tour, you can take the opportunity to enjoy your packed lunch inside the heating cabin, which is open 24 hours a day. There you can also pay your track fee with cash or with Swish (with reservation for poor reception on site). Privy available.
