Most visitors to the national park hike to Njupeskär and maybe to Old Tjikko, but there's so much you miss when you go on your own. Hiking to Njupeskär A tour through the enchanting primeval forest in Fulufjället National Park to Sweden's highest waterfall, Njupeskär. The journey begins with a visit to the park's information center Naturum. A lovely outdoor lunch with local ingredients and traditions is prepared together. Most of these are not on tourist maps. On the mountain plateau at 900 meters above sea level, you have a spectacular view. On the mountain, there will be a visit to a couple of Iron Age graves, a Stone Age dwelling, and some sacrificial altars. From here it is 2 kilometers to the world's oldest tree, Old Tjikko. The next stop on the hike is Sweden's highest waterfall, Njupeskär, and finally the Old Forest before we are back at the starting point which is the information center in Naturum.
