Welcome to Särna
Särna is nestled in a valley embraced by Fulufjället, Städjan-Nipfjället and Vedungsfjället in northern Dalarna. Here, on the border with Norway, lies Fulufjället National Park – one of Sweden's largest national parks. Here you can hike to two of Dalarna's most unique wonders: Njupeskär, one of Sweden's highest waterfalls at 93 metres, and Old Tjikko – the world's oldest tree.
In winter, Särna turns into a snowmobile paradise with vast mountain expanses stretching toward Idre, Gördalen, and Sälen. Once a year in July, the village comes alive during the Särna Festival Week – a lively event packed with activities such as snowmobile watercross, market stalls, and running races.
