In the village of Nusnäs outside Mora, the world's most famous horse - Dalahästen - is produced. In the factory you can follow the journey from piece of wood to finished horse very closely.

Welcome to a guided tour in the village of Nusnäs, where the Dala horse has been handcrafted for generations. At Nils Olsson Dalahästar, you’ll get a unique insight into the entire production process – from raw wooden block to fully painted masterpiece. Smell the scent of freshly sawn wood and watch skilled craftsmen shape and decorate each horse by hand. Regular guided tours are offered June – August Groups on request year-round. If a guided tour is not offered during your visit you are welcome to walk around the factory on your own and you can ask any questions to the skilled craftsmen who work with their part in the chain. It is also possible to paint your own Dala horse. In the store there is a large selection of dala horses in different sizes, colors and models and other products such as clogs. In the summer there is also a café with coffee, ice cream and light lunches.
