Restored cabin area from the 1800s. Here you can get a good insight into how pig iron was produced in a blast furnace.
The Tanså blast furnace ruin is a remnant of one of Mockfjärd's major industrial eras. For nearly half a century, the "works" produced pig iron using ore, coal, and limestone that were transported to the furnace by horse.
A 2.5 km long cultural trail has been organized to give visitors insight into the industrial iron production, working life, and forestry of the past. Next to the furnace, there is now a rest area with a fireplace available for visitors.
