A perfect starting point for the trip in Siljan Geopark is the Nature Museum at Rättvik Culture House. Here you will find out more about the development of the Siljan countryside from the birth of the earth via the meteorite strike until today. The museum sections show the area's unique geology and rich animal and plant life.
Description
The Nature Museum leads you from the Earth's rise to today's animal and plant life. Here you can follow how a giant meteorite crashed 377 million years ago. Thanks to the impact, the area today has an internationally interesting geological landscape.
You find the museum in the Culture House in central Rättvik.
