Motor and Nostalgia Museum

A museum for the whole family. Here you can see cars, motorcycles, excavators, and even old store furnishings. Beautifully located by Lake Södra Hörken in Dalarna.

The Museum Offers a nostalgic overview of objects and environments from the 1920s onward. The museum features various sections, including cars, motorcycles, mopeds, outboard motors, aircraft engines, cameras and film, radio, beer and breweries, as well as forestry and forest management. One of the main attractions is the exhibition hall's classic cars. In the open area behind the museum, you'll find a large nationally-renowned collection of construction machinery such as excavators, road graders, fire trucks, tractors, and older workshop machines. A well-attended Machinery Day is held annually in August. The museum also includes reconstructions of complete environments such as a 1930s driving school and a number of shops and stores from the same era, as well as a fully-equipped car repair workshop from the 1950s. In the camera and film section, there are vintage cameras, film projectors, and objects related to this theme—also, a darkroom can be viewed. The museum includes a shop, café, and conference room. One Ticket, Four Attractions There is plenty to do in Grängesberg. Now you can access four exciting attractions with one ticket and, new for 2025, a guided Cultural Walk featuring visits to all of these attractions. You'll learn more about the mine and the development of the industrial town. After the walk, you're welcome to stay and explore the attractions or return to Disponentparken for coffee or lunch. The Cultural Walk is guided, approximately 2 km long, and takes about 1 hour. The guided tours run from June 23 to August 15, Monday-Friday at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM. The leaflet “We Built Grängesberg: A Walk in the Footsteps of Miners” is included with the ticket.
