Sport fishing in Smedjebacken gives you access to fishing in the upper part of Kolbäcksån between Morgårdshammar and Smedjebacken. After an easy floating stretch, you can fish for rainbow trout and trout, in a nature with both beaver and bird life. A large part of the area is set aside as a nature reserve. Prices for fishing licenses (All licenses are valid throughout the river): • Children/youth up to 15 years, fishing in the company of an adult on his/her fishing license & quota. He or she must manage and use and keep track of the equipment himself. If the child chooses not to actively fish, the gear is removed from the water (Also applies to bottom/float angling). From the year you turn 15, you buy a card as an adult. • Children up to 7 years old may fish on an adult's fishing license and quota. Children/adults must be in direct proximity to each other. Maximum 2 children/adult. • No rubbish may be left. Everything must be taken home. Fishing reindeer is okay to throw in the river. • Fires must be made with caution in the designated place. All lighting is done at your own risk. • The nature reserve's rules apply. • Respect the wildlife around the river. • Maximum 3 fish per fishing license. Maximum 2 cards/calendar day. • You may fish with sport fishing gear. That is, a fly rod, a fishing rod or a casting rod. • Maximum 1 active fishing gear at a time. I.e. Fisheries control: We have several people who conduct fisheries supervision, this for everyone's well-being and safety. The people will actively control the area and its visitors. Our supervisors will carry GoPro cameras for you and our safety. At an inspection, you as a fisherman are obliged to present a valid fishing license and, if necessary, a valid ID document. The supervisors report violations of the law, such as fishing without a valid fishing license, etc. The actions that violate the association's rules but are not a violation of the law will be subject to a so-called control fee.
