Myrans Hemslöjd was founded in 1983 by Erik and Joanna Svensson. Here, you’ll find authentic craftsmanship with deep roots in the culture of Dalarna. Browse through souvenirs and learn more about the traditional hair artisans in the heart of Våmhus' genuine surroundings. In the 19th century, farmers with few livestock lived in Våmhus. To increase their income, many in the village began working with handicrafts. The men made chip baskets, and the women created jewelry from human hair. At Myrans Hemslöjd, this tradition continues, with owner Joanna often working on her hair crafts in the shop. The store also features a small exhibition of old and new hairwork pieces, hair art, and vintage photographs. Advanced booking for group tours available for smaller groups.
