Porphyry and Hagström Museum

The museum has three departments with permanent exhibitions about porphyry production, bog ore production and AB Albin Hagström's accordions, guitars and amplifiers. Here you will find a unique combination of local industrial and cultural treasure where both the porphyry and the music have been exported worldwide.

Here you can find unique collections of art in porphyryrock and Hagstrom-made instruments. Porphyryrock is considered one of the hardest rocks in the world and is therefore good to grind and polish. Firm AB Albin Hagstrom had time to produce over 1 million accordion, guitars and PA systems in its history in Älvdalen. Their guitars have been used by both Elvis, ABBA, Frank Zappa and others.
