The Dead falls

For about 7000 years ago the river Dalälven broke a new groove for his rampage. The old cases were drained and named Big Hell, Little Hell and Southern Hell. A visit to the Dead falls suit both the geologically interested and you who would like to experience a magical setting along the river Dalälven.

Information boards are posted all the way from the foot of the Dead Falls and up to the top. It is possible to book a guide and take a trip around Hell! The Dead Falls is an interesting stop along the trail "Älvpromenaden" that goes on both sides of the Dala River. The trail is 8.5 km long and runs between Avesta and Krylbo.
