Bastberget
Show mapBastberget: a living high mountain pasture.
The traditional way of farming has been in operation here for 400 years, and is still going strong. Today, Bastbergets fäbod is classified as a monument of national cultural history and an object of environmental protection. Besides the genuine traditions, buildings and atmosphere, you can enjoy marvellous views from the pasture’s look-out point. During the summer some of the people there live the old-fashioned way, milking their cows, making butter, whey-cheese etc.
The animals stay on the summer fram about 8 weeks, starting one week before midsummer. Small-scale sales of homemade cheese and butter.
Guided tours for groups can be booked at Kalles Magnus +46 73-976 23 30 or kallesmagnus@bastberget.se
