Storvätteshågna 18 km

Svealand's highest mountain, 1204 meters above sea level, offers fantastic views and on a clear day you can see the Helag massif in the north. The mountain offers a huge panoramic view. You get fantastic insights into the nature of the Dala mountains. This is a strenuous day trip, but well worth the effort.

Start and end location: Grövelsjön Mountain Station. Length: 18 km, back and forth. Trail markings: Yes. Time: Day. Severity: Medium difficulty. Heavy climb up to the top. Description: From Grövelsjön's mountain station, go about 100 meters down along the asphalt road and then take the gravel road up to the upper summer parking lot. Then follow the trail towards Storvätteshågna. At Foskbäcken it is nice to take a break. Before the climb to the top, you pass the Fosksjöarna where you can gather strength before continuing the trail up to the top, tough climb but once up it is flat and easy walking. Take the opportunity to take a dip in the high lake at the top. The tour can also be done from Lövåsen, follow the marked summer trail towards Storvätteshågna. At ån Foskån, you cross the bridge and continue on the southern trail up to the top. Round trip from Lövåsen is 20 km. Environment: Mountain environment with fantastic views.
