Njupeskärsleden 3.9 km

Here you get to walk in a magical nature along the Njupån valley with 400-year-old spruces. Enjoy many different nature types along the way. Part of the trail is adapted for wheelchairs and strollers.

Start and end location: Naturum Fulufjället. Length: 3.9 km, circular loop. Trail markings: Yellow trail marking. Nature trail with information boards. Time: Approximately 1.5 hours (adult). Severity: Easy to hike trail that is gravel and footbridge. The trail is a little steep in some places. Environment: You pass the beautiful marsh with a view of Städjan and Nipfjället, the deep spruce forest, the bright mountain birch forest and the stately old pines that have stood on the mountainside for hundreds of years. The trail is cleared and adapted for prams and wheelchairs from the visitor centre and up to Njupeskärstugan, about 1.5 km, but it is very steep in places. Facilities: Along the trail there are wind shelters, toilets and cabins where you can barbecue. Fill your water bottle in the service building at naturum Fulufjället before you leave. Parking: All parking in naturum Fulufjället entrances is free, but you can choose to pay a voluntary parking fee via Swish or by going to the visitor centre and paying by card or cash. Electric car chargers do not exist. NB! Keep in mind that the Njupeskär trail is a summer trail and in winter it can be very slippery in places. Naturum does not recommend going down into the Njupeskär ravine, as there is a risk of landslides and avalanches. Visit Dalarna is not responsible for the trail or its maintenance.
