The Sångenrundan offers a mixed environment and varied cycling.
Start: Ica Nära, Dala-Floda Length: 32 km Surface: Path, gravel, asphalt. Description: Sångenrundan 23 km (Short Sångenrundan) and 32 km (Long Sångenrundan). Both can be combined into a figure-of-eight trail, with the longer trail building on the shorter one.
The first kilometres start with a road and a nice path with a slowly increasing slope that ends with a short stretch of slightly steeper slopes before turning and heading downhill.
Here the trail splits into a longer 32 km ride that takes you around Lake Sången on partly technical cycling, but above all beautiful scenery as the trail goes on a ridge in older pine forest to the northern end of Sången to then connect to the shorter round of 23 km. If you choose the shorter route, you follow the gravel road and wider path to the southern part of Sången at the inlet of Sångån.
There you can take a break at the windbreak and enjoy the view for a while. Här ansluter även långa rundan igen. Färden går vidare längs vackra Sångån på bred fin stig. For a short distance you cycle on a narrow winding path through sparse pine forest to later join the wider path that leads down to the gravel road.
You pass the Sandviken herd on a gravel road and shortly afterwards turn off onto a narrower herd path that leads you back towards Dala-Floda again. It starts with a climb, but it is worth the effort, as this part is eventful and beautiful. You can relax on the last bit, which is a gravel and tarmac road into the village. Be careful in nature and show consideration for others in the forest.
There may be hikers and even horses on the trail. Be considerate and make them aware of your presence before you pass.
