Hykjeberg north 2 km

There are two hiking trails to choose from to get up to the top of Hykjeberg and enjoy the view. This is the shorter one and the one most people choose to go.

Start and end location: The trail starts to the right of the information board at the upper parking lot and the turning point at the nature reserve. See directions! Length: 2 km, round trip. Trail markings: Exists. Time: About 1 hour. Severity: On the trail there are many rocks and roots, be careful where you put your feet. Steep in places. Environment: Hykjeberget is located about a mile northeast of the village of Älvdalen. The mountain peak is located at 594 meters above sea level. Below the top, the mountain plunges into an almost vertical rock wall of 100 meters. Hykjeberget is a popular excursion destination with incredibly nice views. At the top, you can rest your legs on the bench that the Prince Couple Carl Philip and Sofia received from the people from Dalarna as a wedding present. It was inaugurated by the Prince Couple in September 2016. Visit Dalarna is not responsible for the trail or its maintenance.
