Cross Country in Siljansnäs


Grön Hästskovägen, 8 km

Type of bike: MTB, Cyclocross
Surface: Gravel road (paved road to and from the track)
Character: Easy gravel track through the forest, with some lovely glimpses of the lake
Description: From the start point, you head through Östra Björken village on small paved roads. From there, you take Hästskovägen, where the path follows the gravel tracks around Björkberget mountain. Downhill to start, which then becomes gentle uphill for a few kilometres. The track leads you to Västra Björken and on small paved roads you head through the beautiful old village to central Siljansnäs and back to the start point.

Blå Korta Björkberget, 8,5 km

Type of bike: MTB, Cyclocross
Surface: Mainly forest trails, a few kilometres of gravel road
Character: Easy, fun and varied trails, generally singletrack
Description: Start on the floodlit exercise track. Then cross the road and the trail’s longest uphill begins. Winding paths and some old cart roads lead gradually to Hästskovägen and a few hundred metres on gravel road. After that you’ll find gentle downhills on cart roads. The trail turns into gravel road again before a great singletrack awaits. The last section is on the road before you turn back in to the floodlit track and the starting point.

Blå Långa Björkberget, 11 km

Surface: Mainly forest trails, a few kilometres of gravel road
Character: Easy, fun and varied trails, mainly singletrack
Description: The trail mainly follows the same route as Korta Björkberget, but includes a few extra kilometres of slightly more hilly singletrack terrain.

Röd Hallberget, 5 km

Type of bike: MTB, Cyclocross
Surface: Forest trail
Character: Varied trail with some technical sections, mainly singletrack
Description: The trail begins by the old floodlit exercise track. Old forest paths with a technical downhill take you down to the marsh where the trail continues, partly on a foot-bridge. After that there are some beautiful old trails and cart roads, technically demanding in places. A steep section up to the top of Hallberget mountain follows and from the top a narrow singletrack takes you back to the start point.
