Städjan's Peak 6,6 Km

A must for all visitors to the area - a wonderful ascent up Dalarna's most famous mountain peak 1131 meters above sea level. At the top you are rewarded with a magnificent view with views of the surrounding mountain world.

Starting point and trail description: Start at Städjan's parking lot at the northern end of Gränjesåsvallen. Follow the orange-marked trail from the parking lot and hike through the mountain forest, continue over the calf mountain and finish with a steep climb. After about 1 km the trail splits, follow the signs and keep to the right. Follow the trail up to the summit via the ridge from the west side. The last piece has a strong counterslop. Same way back. Length: 6.6 km back and forth. Altitude difference: 500 meters. Lead marking: Orange marking. Time consumption: About 2 3 hours (adult). Difficulty: A half-day tour with steep climbs and a height difference of 500 meters which can be challenging. The trail consists of paths in a mountain environment as well as gravel through primeval forest, the terrain can be uneven and during certain seasons and weather the trail is difficult to access. Environment: Primeval forest, mountain forest and mountain nature. Facilities: A privy and two coffee tables are at the parking lot where you start the hike. Bring water as there is nowhere along the trail. Parking: Städjan's parking lot at the northern end of Gränjesåsvallen (no fee). Visit Dalarna is not responsible for the trail or its maintenance.
