Rots Skans is a fortification facility which was built in 1677 under Charles XI's reign for protection against attacks from Norway, later on it fell under the Danish. From the fort's ramparts today and well maintained.

There are many summer activities held here.


Follow Highway 70 out of the valley for about 2 km. At Y-junction follow the signs to the right and into the Root. There on the right hand side is directly Rots skans.
