Scenic hike to Hykjeberget nature reserve in Älvdalen with Swedish Fika at the top of the cliff. An interesting hike in the Elfdalian woods to one of Dalarna's most beautiful and scenic views.
Hykjeberget is a beautiful nature reserve with a spectacular vertical cliff wall reaching 594 metres over sea level that was visited by our famous botanist Carl von LInné in 1734 and he was impressed both by the view and the natural diversity in the area. Unusual broadleaf trees to the region such as maple trees and linden grows here thanks to the cliff facing south and the extra warmth in the rock. The hike goes up to the top through a magic forest with a lot of history in the air of a time when the local people was totally depended of the woods, the land and what is gave them. The hike will have stops along the way where the guides talk about the nature and the history.
At the top, you will get served Swedish Fika where we also can enjoy and rest at a bench that was given as a wedding gift from the region to the Swedish Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia who is originated from Älvdalen.
