Fishing Adventures - Sälen

Transtrand´s fishing area is 6,500 hectare (25 sq. miles) of fishing waters including approximately 20 lakes, small forest lakes and 190 km /118 miles) of fast water prodiving the perfect conditions for all types of fishing. Game fish are to be found in most waters. The river Fuluälven and Görälven are included in the best fly fishing waters in Sweden in regards to grayling and salmon trout.

The fish preservation/conservation organizaition releases 8,000- 10,000 kg (17,000 - 22,000 lbs) game fish such as char, salmon trout and steelhead in at least 10 different small lakes each summer. This allows even the less experienced fisherman the chance to have game fish for dinner. The area has undergone a lot of work in many areas so as to make it possible for disabled persons to fish.
