Description: The starting point is along the road "Ovabacksgattu", by the informationsign for the nature reserve Nybodalen. From here, follow the orange markings. The hike goes through the forest and two nature reserves, Nybodalen and Digerberget.
In Nybodalen, the hike goes through a deciduous forest. When you get closer to Digerberget, the path goes through a pine forest. When you reach the viewpoint on Digerberget you will have a fantastic view over the lake Siljan. There is also a small wooden shelter here where one can sit down and take a break and enjoy the view.
While looking out over the landscape you will mainly see pine trees, with some of them being far more than 100 years old. In this area you can also find rare and endangered fungal species which survival is dependent on forests that consist mainly of old and dead trees.
The birdlife in the area is typical for pine forests. Redstart, Crested tit, Coal tit and Tree creepers are some of the bird one can find here during the spring months.
If you only want to see the view, it's possible to walk from Dalecarlia Hotel & Spa in Tällberg. From here it's only 500 m up to the view. After the short walk through the forest you will reach the viewpoint.
From Leksand: Drive north towards Tällberg on road 70, turn left at Tällbergsporten and continue on this road. After the train station in Tällberg continue on Ovabacksgattu and you will reach the parking area.
