Orsa is waiting for you! Orsa is one of Dalarna's smallest municipalities, but still has almost everything. The hostel is located on the mountain about 500 m from road 45, and you have exercise trails with electric light just next to it. At Orsa Lake you can swim and sunbath at the beautiful sandy beaches. You can fish, hike, bowl or simply just enjoy the beautiful environment. In winter, you can go long-distance skating on long tracks or cross-country skis in well prepared trails at the hostel or at Orsa Grönklitt. In Orsa Grönklitt you will also find an excellent downhill skiing facility. A visit to the Grönklitt Predator Center with Siberian tigers, wolves, Swedish brown bears and significantly larger Kamchatka bears, as well as other large predators, is almost a must when visiting Orsa. You are offered breathtaking views and exciting wilderness experiences among rapids, mountains and ancient forests. Storstupet and Helvetesfallet, waterfalls in Ämån's scenic valley, are well-visited excursions, as are the typical dalecarlian village Fryksås. You can't miss the Dala horse production in Nusnäs, Tomteland at Gesundaberget and the Zorn Museum. One of the highlights of the year, however, is undoubtedly the traditional Midsummer celebrations that take place everywhere in the villages throughout the midsummer weekend. Here you can take part in raising the decorated may pole, look at Orsa's folk dancers in their beautiful folk costumes and listen to real folk music by the players of the region. The rooms • 52 beds in 2-, 3- and 4-bed rooms, most with WC and some with WC and shower. • Two kitchens for self catering, dining room and TV room. • The entire hostel is non-smoking. • Pets are allowed in two of the 4-bed rooms.
