Knappgården Fjällhotell

Between Särna and Idre with magnificent views of the Northern Dalarna mountains and Österdalälven, Knappgården has been around for hundreds of years. Here you can just sit on the view area and enjoy the calm and clear mountain air.

Within 30 minutes by car, you reach Fulufjällets National Park, the mountains Städjan and Nipfjället and the alpine destinations Idre Fjäll and Fjätervålen. In the forests there are fishing waters, berries, wildlife and cultural heritage sites. Snowmobile trails that can also be used for skiing and hiking start just around the corner. Summertime there are forest roads that are nice to bike on. Österdalälven, lakes and ponds are nice to paddle the canoe in. And before the snow comes, there are sometimes early ice skates. Stay comfortably in one of the 9 well-appointed rooms in the hotel lobby. All have their own shower and toilet. The rooms are spacious and have two travel beds from Wasabedden in Älvdalen or a double bed and usually a bunk bed. There is a kitchenette with two hotplates, coffee maker, microwave and fridge. Breakfast and dinner are served in the old-fashioned main building. Access to sauna and activity room. In the yard there are bikes, snow shoes and kicks to borrow. Annika and Kjelle are the hosts that are there to ensure you have a nice stay and good meals. -We love the forest and the mountain nature and all it has to give. We work with locally sourced and organic raw materials as much as we can, a great deal comes from the wood pantry and even from our own crops. There are also conference facilities with accommodation for up to 40 people. All rooms are non-smoking.
